Do you ever feel like you're having deja-vu? I'm sure most of us out there have run into this at work. You're sitting there in the conference room and it's the same old discussion, for maybe, the third time this month. Nothing gets resolved, nothing gets done, no action items are created. So why are we talking about this, again?!

Another type of meeting I hate is when it is a babysitting meeting ... to check the status of where people are at ... seriously, just ask the person, don't waste an hour of everyone's time to see if anything has changed between this Tuesday and last Tuesday! I have an engineer that even takes attendance at his status update meetings and marks you with "excused" or "unexcused" if you aren't there! It's riduculous! At my company there also seems to be the mantra that you can't have a meeting without any action items so people make up pointless action items to feel as if the meeting was productive! Not to mention no one can start a meeting on time to save their life ...
