Hello World

Well, the timing is about right. Been only 7 years since my last post, and it's time to blow off the dust. For all intents and purposes, I'm off social media, so I need somewhere to scream into the void. And what a void it has become! Idocracy now looks like the playbook for Trump 2.0.

I started to, then I deleted it. Then it hit me. I realized he almost got me. THEY almost got me. I will not go silently into that good night... or whatever that poem I am misquoting says. I will not avoid mention of he-who-shall-not-be-named. 

The fact I'm having that thought, the fact that I'm feeling scared, is all the more reason to do it. Not to hide. Not to keep silent, because I might be on some super-secret list. That is crazy. Crazy talk.

Here we are, America, 250 years into this great experiment. Are we really already in the decline of Rome? Can we save ourselves? Can the people come together? 5 months to the midterms. So much damage can be done in that time. Where is Congress? Where are the good people of this country who want to help each other? When will we stop letting the oligarchs win?
